At this time, many insurance companies will reimburse the cost of a TAP® oral appliance if
- You have had a polysomnogram (PSG) test in a sleep lab
- You are diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea
- A doctor writes a letter of medical necessity
- You to provide documentation that you have tried and failed CPAP (only required by some insurance companies)
Please note that each insurance policy is different. Your insurance may or may not cover the treatment services you receive at SleepWell Solutions. It depends on your
benefits. Each patient is responsible for knowing his or her individual policy and its limitations. We recommend that you familiarize yourself with the specifics of your plan prior to
your first visit.
The following companies have reimbursed our services in the past:
- Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas
- Aetna
- United Health Care
Currently, SleepWell Solutions is an out-of-network provider for all insurance companies. We do not accept assignment from any insurance company.
SleepWell Solutions Helps Patients with Insurance
As a courtesy, SleepWell Solutions will help you by calling your insurance company to get a pre-service verification of your benefits.
Prior to your first appointment, SleepWell Solutions will present you with detailed information about your co-pay, the amount of your deductible if you have one, how much your insurance
will cover, etc.
Medicare
SleepWell Solutions is not a Medicare provider. We will, however, provide a 10% discount to Medicare patients who pay in full at the time of service.
Please note that we are beginning to see a change in coverage policies as more people are being treated with oral appliances for sleep disordered breathing. In 2006, Medicare issued two
new codes for oral appliances. Since these codes now exist, it is possible for you to submit a claim to Medicare for reimbursement. SleepWell Solutions can guide you through the process
of making such a claim. The Medicare code for a custom TAP oral appliance is EO486.
Have You Had an Overnight Sleep Study in a Sleep Lab?
If Yes: Get Started with Treatment
In most cases, you will able to use insurance at SleepWell Solutions without going back to a sleep lab if you have had
- A recent overnight sleep study in a sleep lab and have been diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea
- A recent study, tried CPAP, and were unable to use the treatment
Call SleepWell Solutions and schedule an appointment today.
If No: Schedule a FREE Consultation
If you have not had a sleep study in a sleep lab and would like to use insurance to pay for your treatment at SleepWell Solutions, start the process by scheduling a no-charge consultation.
We will perform two simple screening tests to see how likely it is that you have sleep apnea. We will then educate you about all of your treatment options. Should you choose to take
the next step, we will then write a prescription and send you to a sleep lab for the appropriate test. |
